What does Low Resistance (LR) Mean ?

Low Resistance Vaping

What does it mean

You see the words "Low Resistance" or "Low Res" or "LR" around a lot in vaping. This LR is refering to the atomizer. A standard 510 atomizer has 3.0 ohms of resistance. The LR atomizer has 1.5 ohms of resistance. With the lower resistance you will get more power; which will give you more vapor and a warmer vapor. Which in turn will give you more flavor and thorat hit.

Disadvantages of LR vaping:

Low Res atomizer (atty) tend to only have about 2/3 of the life span of a standard atty. You will also go through a little more e-liquid when vaping at Low Res. LR attys also thrash on your battery a bit. If an  eGo battery would usually get about 300 charges in it's life; only expect about 200 charges if you are using LR attys all the time.

Can I use a Low Res atty?:

As long as you are using a battery will at least 600 mAh of power; you can use a low res atty. This means you can use LR on any of the eGo batteries (650mAh and 1000mAh). You should NOT use LR attys on the 510 batteries (150mAh) or the Revolution V2 (500mAh)

Show you work please:

Here is the math to figure out how much power your e-cig is giving you. You sqare the voltage, then devide by your resistance.

Examples:

1) Using a 5 Volt device with a standard 3ohm atty: 5 X 5 = 25 / 3.0 = 8.33 watts of power

2) Using an eGo (3.7Volts) with regular atomizer: 3.7 X 3.7 = 13.69 / 3.0 = 4.56 watts of power

3) Using an eGo with Low Res attys:  3.7 X 3.7 = 13.69 / 1.5 = 9.13 watts of power

What LR attys does NicFitNation Sell:

We have LR attys for the 510, 306, eGo, eGo-T, and 510-T. They are all listed on our Spare Parts Page

Hi Ben,

Most people do prefer the Low Res attys when it comes to the eGo-T. You will get much more flavor and throat hit for sure.
